Terms
Short, because there isn’t much to it. The nights are free, you don’t buy anything here, and nobody signs a contract.
Who runs this
We Like Open Mics is run by Olly Andrews, trading as We Like Oliver. Questions about anything on this page go to olly@welikeoliver.com.
Signing up to play
Telling us you’re coming is a heads-up, not a booked slot. It helps us plan the running order and it means we can warn you if something changes. We’ll do our best to fit everyone in, and we can’t promise a set time, a set length or a running order.
If you’ve asked Olly to accompany you, give at least three days’ notice so he can learn it. Less than that and the answer is probably no.
On the night
- Live instruments and voices only. No backing tracks.
- There’s a guitar you can borrow at every venue, so you don’t have to carry one across London.
- The venues are pubs and bars. Their staff run the room and their rules apply, including on age and on last orders.
- Be decent to the other performers and to the people working there. We can ask anyone to stop or to leave.
Dates can change
Nights get cancelled, moved and retimed, sometimes at short notice and sometimes by the venue rather than by us. We update this site as soon as we know, and a cancelled date is marked rather than quietly removed. Check before you travel a long way.
Venue details
Addresses, phone numbers and descriptions come from Google and can be out of date or wrong. Ratings are the venue’s own Google rating, not a rating of the open mic. The venues are independent businesses and we’re not responsible for how they’re run.
Your photos and your music
You keep the rights to anything you perform. Photos on this site are used with permission. If you’re in one and you’d rather not be, email us and it comes down.
The site itself
We keep it accurate and we can’t guarantee it’s always right or always up. Nothing here is a promise that a particular night will happen. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
